The Newness of Life

The person who truly believes on Jesus begins eternal life here on earth. He leaves the old sinful life of serving self and enters a new life of freedom from the bondage of sin. He is free to serve the Lord. As he walks with God and is faithful, he has the promise that this new life will continue right into heaven.

Forgiveness and Mercy

All mankind is in need of forgiveness. The Scriptures tell us, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10). We are all born of sinful flesh. Forgiveness is the blotting out of sin. The only way we can become reconciled to our Creator is through His mercy and forgiveness.

Teach Us to Pray

The soul of every man desires to reach out to his Maker. The extent of man’s fall is revealed by the fact that we need help even to reach out to God. The extent of God’s love is revealed by His reaching down to us, stimulating within us that desire for Him.

The Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep” (John 10:11-12).

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” (John 15:10-11).

Ever the Same

“And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail” (Heb. 1:10-12). “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Heb. 13:8).
